Deacon Fidel Carrillo, Catholic Chaplain at the Northern California Youth Correctional Center (NCYCC) along with seven volunteers served 5,012 tacos to 440 youth and 783 staff. Deacon Fidel said that his job was a bit different this day as he decided to make tacos for the staff and youth and that he was carrying out his duties as a Chaplain just in a different more creative way, this day. He decided not to only fill people’s hearts with hope but also fill their stomachs with appetizing traditional Mexican tacos. During these trying times it is hard to be hopeful and optimistic about the future since everything is constantly changing during this pandemic. Feeding people tacos was a simple act, but a very heart warming and thoughtful one that everyone enjoyed that day. Tacos 4 All left many with kind words for Deacon Fidel and the volunteers.

“Deacon made very good tacos and since I’ve been in DJJ he has always helped us out in any way he can. Like the Bus Program for my family to visit and now tacos for all of us.”

Thank you so much for the food that you and your team provide, for not only the faculty and staff but to our youth. In these trying times showing compassion for ones fellow woman and man has been truly missed. You kindness is the true example of what Christmas is all about.

Thank you,

Hello Deacon Carrillo,

During these difficult times, you provide us (tacos) faith and hope that we need to support/help each other. God is good and we need to continue doing our best at home, work and in our community.

God Bless you!

It’s been a challenging year for everyone for a variety of reasons, including the Covid-19 pandemic. I would like to Thank You Deacon Carrillo for your thoughtfulness and generosity in taking the time and energy to provide a delicious meal for everyone. It was a nice distraction from everything going around in the world and a good morale booster. We were blessed to have you be a part of our lives in order for this to happen. Thank you for sharing your blessings with us. May God continue to bless you and your family.
